Daron Wint, the man accused of killing a wealthy family and their housekeeper inside their DC mansion, has fired his defense attorneys.
The decision was made at the start of a scheduled preliminary hearing Thursday afternoon, which was later postponed.
He will be represented by public defenders once again.
Attorney Sean Hanover says he and Wint had a “difference of opinion,” leading Wint to let go of Hanover and a colleague who handled immigration. Hanover added that Wint is “heartbroken” over the Savapoulous family’s death. He also believes other are involved in the slayings.
According to court documents, police believe others were involved in helping Wint hold the family captive and killing them after receiving $40,000 ransom.
