WASHINGTON (WMAL) — The lobbying war between Maryland and Virginia continues over FBI Headquarters’ new location.

“We believe the sites in Prince George’s County are exactly what they’re looking for,” Maryland Senator Ben Cardin said. “They need a campus facility where you can consolidate all the facilities, where they can operate efficiently, where they’re close to Metro.”

Virginia Senator Mark Warner continues to advocate for a development in Virginia.

“We clearly think that the Virginia location, because of its closeness to Quantico, to other intel and security agencies throughout Northern Virginia, is a good choice,” Warner said. “The Virginia site in many places is even closer for the Maryland residents, and obviously is closer for the Virginia residents.”

Both sides say a decision is still months away.
