BALTIMORE (WMAL) — Imagine waking up in your hotel room, stepping outside and stepping right onto a plane. BWI plans to give travelers that option.
The airport is requesting proposals from firms for the “design, development, financing, construction, and operation” of a hotel with direct access to the terminal.
The full-service hotel would have meeting areas, restaurants and 200 to 250 rooms for customers.
“The goal was to provide a high quality, full-service hotel with convenient, direct access to the BWI terminal,” BWI spokesman Jonathan Dean said.
The hotel would be located directly behind the terminal. All revenue from the hotel would benefit the airport.
The contract is expected to be awarded next spring.
