WASHINGTON — (WMAL) House Republicans are not giving up the fight against the legalization of pot sales in the District of Columbia.
A bill drafted Wednesday by the House Appropriations Committee would maintain the ban on the District spending money to advance marijuana laws.
Despite a threat from Congress that legalizing pot would violate federal law, Mayor Muriel Bowser legalized pot possession in February.
Although DC residents can grow pot, they cannot buy or sell it.
