5am – E`        Surveillance planes spotted in the sky for days after West Baltimore rioting. As Benjamin Shayne settled into his back yard to listen to the Orioles game on the radio Saturday night, he noticed a small plane looping low and tight over West Baltimore — almost exactly above where rioting had erupted several days earlier, in the aftermath of the death of a black man, Freddie Gray, in police custody. The plane appeared to be a small Cessna, but little else was clear. The sun had already set, making traditional visual surveillance difficult. So, perplexed, Shayne tweeted: “Anyone know who has been flying the light plane in circles above the city for the last few nights?” That was 9:14 p.m. Seven minutes later came a startling reply. One of Shayne’s nearly 600 followers tweeted back a screen shot of the Cessna 182T’s exact flight path and also the registered owner of the plane: NG Research, based in Bristow, Va.

6am – A/B/C  Does Huckabee Have a Chance?

  • Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee announces White House bid. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee announced his bid for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination Tuesday morning. Huckabee, who is popular with the religious right, shared the news of his candidacy with supporters at Hempstead Hall in his hometown of Hope, 113 miles southwest of Little Rock. “I was raised to believe that where a person started doesn’t mean that’s where he has to stop,” he said. “I always believed that a kid could go from Hope to higher ground.” Huckabee, 59, a former Baptist pastor, hit the national stage when he won the Iowa caucuses by rousing the state’s Christian communities during his run for the GOP’s 2008 nomination.

6am – D         World’s first self-driving truck takes to the highways in Nevada. If you hanker to be a driver of a brand-new Daimler truck, there’s bad news for you: the job doesn’t exist anymore.  The Freightliner Inspiration, the world’s first self-driving semi-truck, is now undergoing testing under real road conditions in Nevada. It’s not yet on sale, however. The US state has certified two Freightliner Inspiration trucks to mix with regular traffic on public roads.

6am – E         Hillary Clinton vows to expand Obama amnesty to more illegals. (Washington Times/Stephen Dinan) — Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton vowed Tuesday that if elected, she would try to expand President Obama’s deportation amnesty to more illegal immigrants, saying this administration has left out a number of aliens who deserve to be granted legal status. Speaking in Las Vegas at a Cinco de Mayo meeting focused on immigration, Mrs. Clinton also called for granting attorneys to illegal immigrants facing the complex immigration system, and said she would like to re-examine detention to ensure more illegal immigrants are released as they await deportation. Mrs. Clinton delivered on just about every question from immigrant rights activists, who had been pressing her to reject Mr. Obama’s detention policies and go beyond his amnesty. “We should go as far as we can to get the resources to provide support and, particularly, representation, and change some of our detention processes within the kind of discretion I think the president has exercised with his executive orders,” Mrs. Clinton told so-called Dreamers, or young illegal immigrants in the U.S. under color of law of Mr. Obama’s initial 2012 amnesty, with whom she met during her public roundtable discussion. She said she wants Congress to pass a broad immigration bill that would grant most illegal immigrants “a path to full and equal citizenship,” but said if Capitol Hill continues to stalemate, she would use presidential powers to the extent of the law.

Web design to the rescue for Hillary!  (The Hill) — Hillary Clinton’s (D) presidential campaign is launching a website to counter the release ofClinton Cash, new book that raises questions about donations to the family’s foundation while she was secretary of State. Clinton campaign Chairman John Podesta announced the effort — dubbed “The Briefing” — in a post to the publishing platform Medium… “While we will not be consumed by these kinds of attacks, we will also not let them go unchallenged,” Podesta said. “That’s why we are building a new one-stop shop to provide the facts about Hillary Clinton’s positions and her record.”

7am – A         INTERVIEW – DANA PERINO – former White House press secretary, author of new book “And the Good News Is…” and co-host of Fox News Channel’s “The Five” – discussed her new book.

7am – B         Carly Fiorina Charms In Late Night Television Debut. (Daily Caller) — Carly Fiorina appears to be pretty talented at this whole being a politician thing. The former Hewlett-Packard CEO and 2016 presidential contender made her first appearance on a network late night television show Wednesday morning and performed spectacularly, engaging in witty banter and charming host Seth Meyers. “Everything about me is different,” Fiorina said on NBC’s “Late Night” while trying to distinguish herself from the other 2016 Republican contenders. “For one, I’m on your show,” she quipped. “My experience set is different,” she continued. “I’m not a professional politician. I’ve done different things. I run charities, I run businesses, I started as a secretary.” “By the way, I look a little different, too,” she joked.Fiorina also took shots at presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

7am – C         Pentagon: No Texas takeover plot. Washington (CNN) Don’t mess with Texas — even if it’s just an exercise. Amid unfounded, Internet-fueled rumors that U.S. Special Operations Forces might be trying to take over parts of the southwest, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ordered Texas State Guard forces under his control to keep an eye on the U.S. military during a large upcoming training exercise. The exercise is called Jade Helm 15. “It is important that Texans know their safety, constitutional rights, private property rights and civil liberties will not be infringed,” Abbott said in an April 28 letter to Major Gen. Gerald “Jake” Betty, commander of the guard. Abbott ordered the guard to “monitor” the eight week-long exercise which begins in July and ends in September, across seven states. In Texas, Utah and New Mexico most of the training will take place on private land. In Arizona, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi, much of it will take place on military installations.

Louie Gohmert Sounds The Alarm About Possible Military Takeover Of Texas. Tea party darling Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) on Tuesday demanded that the U.S. military alter a planned training exercise that some conspiracy theorists believe is cover for a possible takeover of the Lone Star state. Gohmert said in a statement that he understands Texans’ concerns that the exercise, dubbed “Jade Helm 15,” may be a precursor for martial law. He directed his criticism specifically at what has been reported to be a map of the training exercise, which labels Texas, among other states, as “hostile” territory: “Once I observed the map depicting ‘hostile,’ ‘permissive,’ and ‘uncertain’ states and locations, I was rather appalled that the hostile areas amazingly have a Republican majority, ‘cling to their guns and religion,’ and believe in the sanctity of the United States Constitution,” Gohmert said in the statement.

7am – E         Baltimore News:

  • Prince announces special ‘Rally 4 Peace’ concert in Baltimore.WASHINGTON — Musical artist Prince has announced a “Rally 4 Peace” concert to be held this weekend in Baltimore. According to a Live Nation news release, the concert will be held at the Royal Farms Arena on Sunday, May 10, and tickets go on sale 5 p.m. Wednesday at LiveNation.com. “In a spirit of healing, the event is meant to be a catalyst for pause and reflection following the outpouring of violence that has gripped Baltimore and areas throughout the US.  As a symbolic message of our shared humanity and love for one another, attendees are invited to wear something gray in tribute to all those recently lost in the violence,” the news release states.
  • GoFundMe yanks online fundraiser for Baltimore cops in Freddie Gray case. The fundraising website GoFundMe has scuttled a campaign to raise money for the six Baltimore police officers accused in the death of Freddie Gray. “Fox & Friends” said Sunday the fundraising page set up for the officers by the Baltimore police union was hastily removed by the California-based website. “Apparently our GoFundMe account has been suspended with no explanation,” the Baltimore police union said on Twitter, according to the Washington Times. “We are working to find a new site for donations. Thank you!” Last month, GoFundMe yanked fundraisers for two Christian-owned businesses that refused to serve gay weddings. The moves generated controversy, and forced the website to tighten its policy on prohibited crowdfunding, the Times said. According to the Times, GoFundMe said the donations page for the officers violated its ban on fundraising in defense of “formal charges, or claims of heinous crimes, violent, hateful or discriminatory acts.”

8am – A         INTERVIEW – PETER SCHWEIZER – author of new book “CLINTON CASH: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich” – discussed his new book.

8am – B         Woman in wheelchair wins a treadmill on ‘The Price is Right.’ (CNN) Any “Price is Right” fan has probably dreamed of one day going on the show and being summoned to “Come on down!” while simultaneously fearing the worst-case scenario of never making it on stage to meet host Drew Carey, or going over on the showcase showdown. Or worse: not spinning the wheel hard enough to make a complete rotation. Danielle Perez’s trip to “The Price is Right” looked like the dream scenario in an episode that aired Tuesday. She made it on stage and met Carey. She even won her pricing game, sending her home with a sauna and a treadmill. Which would’ve been great, except that Perez has no legs and she uses a wheelchair. Perez’s cringe-worthy win was quickly posted on YouTube and garnered plenty of reaction on social media.  “This poor woman in a wheelchair just won a treadmill on Price is Right,” Chad Neidt wrote on Twitter.

8am – C         Manny Pacquiao Is Facing a $5 Million Class-Action Lawsuit. Manny Pacquiao has been named in a $5 million class-action lawsuit, filed Tuesday, claiming that the boxer and his team had failed to disclose his shoulder injury to the Nevada Athletic Commission prior to his May 2 match against Floyd Mayweather Jr., as required by law. The lawsuit, filed by Stephane Vanel and Kami Rahbaran, “on behalf of all persons who purchased tickets; purchased the pay per view event or who wagered money on the event,” claims damages for those who “were victimized by [the] Defendants’ failure to disclose and to cover up the injuries of Defendant Pacquiao.”Filed in a Las Vegas U.S. District Court, the suit names Pacquiao, his promotion company Top Rank Inc. and president Todd DuBoef, adviser Michael Koncz and promoter Bob Arum as defendants. The lawsuit comes on the heels of a Monday report by the Associated Press that said Francisco Aguilar, chairman of the Nevada Athletic Commission, was investigating why Pacquiao checked “no” when asked to disclose if he was injured. Koncz later shouldered the blame saying, “I checked it. It was just an inadvertent mistake.”
