WHADDAYA KNOW? The Weather Folks Were Right On Target!

(WASHINGTON) —  This time, the weather people were right on target.  

As forecast by the National Weather Service, TV forecasters and other local meteorologists, the DC area received anywhere from 3 to 8 inches of snow in a weather event that began with Monday afternoon's holiday rush hour, and is on target to end by Tuesday's morning Snow holiday rush.  

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for most of the area through Noon, although most snow is expected to clear to the east by shortly after dawn.   

The region's first significant snow event of the season could be followed by more passing snow showers on Wednesday, with no break at all from the freezing temperatures.  Overnight lows Thursday morning could dip below zero for much of the area.
