The National Weather Service is expecting snow to hit the D.C. area Tuesday morning, just in time for rush hour.
"We're looking at a quick one to two inches and then we'll have some bands in there and there could be three inches," NWS meteorologist Bryan Jackson said. "That's really anywhere across the Baltimore-Washington metro area."
Jackson said a winter weather advisory is likely for tomorrow as the NWS issues them when there is an accumulation of one inch of snow during rush hours.
The clipper is traveling south today from Alberta, Canada and will hit Maryland and the District tonight. The snow is projected to start Tuesday morning between 5 and 7 a.m. and will continue until between 10 a.m. and noon.
The northern parts of the D.C. area will be most affected, with the clipper tapering off in the southern parts, according to Jackson.
