A developer is asking for permission to close two-thirds of a mile of I-395, from New York Avenue to "D" Street, Northwest, in order to speed construction of a new office complex.
But local members of Congress say what has them upset is the lack of communication. DC Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton and Virginia Rep. Gerry Connolly say they first learned about the proposal by reading about it in the Washington Post.
Norton is now calling for a meeting of lawmakers, DDOT, and the Federal Highway Administration.
