WASHINGTON – Crystal Wright, the “GOP Black Chick” told WMAL Mornings on the Mall Tuesday that there are deeper issues than racial profiling at play in the death of Michael Brown.

“Somehow it’s been accepted to dance on eggshells when you’re talking about the issues that are really affecting the black community,” she said. “You can’t be honest.”

Wright said that political leaders on the left, along with the news media, have made excuses for bad choices that continue the cycles of poverty and violent crime in black communities. She points out that the real issue at play is the breakdown of the family in certain communities of color.

“Mike Brown was killed because he made bad choices, not because he was racially profiled. He robbed a convenience store and confronted a police officer,” Wright told WMAL. “That’s what we need to be talking about: this culture of defiance within lower class black culture.”

President Obama is among the leaders that Wright criticized for changing the course of the Ferguson conversation. He met with “so-called civil rights leaders,” as Wright called them, Monday to discuss racial issues throughout the country because of the unrest in Ferguson after Officer Darren Wilson was released from charges.

“I don’t have any civil rights leaders that I look up to because we don’t need them,” she said.

“The President has to keep lying to Blacks because he has done nothing for them,” Wright insisted that economic opportunity is at one of its lowest points for the black community.
