WASHINGTON — (WMAL) — Two people were seriously injured in a crash involving an SUV and a USPS tractor trailer on Cherry Hill Road in Silver Spring.
Montgomery County fire spokesman Pete Piringer said both of those victims have life-threatening injuries.
“Two people in the SUV were trapped,” said Piringer. “They had to be cut out.”
The crash happened just outside the Orchard Center shopping center at around 3 a.m. Monday morning. The USPS truck landed on top of the SUV.
The USPS trailer was full of mail, making it harder to offload the truck from the SUV.
Cherry Hill Road is blocked at Calverton Boulevard and remains closed.
